Description
The Titanium Metal Wire is long and thin wire-shaped metal materials made of high-purity titanium materials through wire drawing, heat treatment and other processes. They are available in straight wire or coiled forms. Their diameters are usually between 0.05mm and 6.0mm and can be customized according to different industrial application requirements.
Low density
Titanium wire has an excellent strength-to-density ratio. The density of pure titanium is about 4.51 g/cm³, which is only 60% of that of steel, but its tensile strength can reach more than 345 MPa, and some alloy titanium wires (such as Ti-6Al-4V) can reach a tensile strength of 900 MPa. This combination of high strength and light weight makes it excellent in situations where weight and structural strength are required.
Excellent corrosion resistance
A dense oxide film can naturally form on the surface of titanium wire. Although the thickness of this oxide film is only a few nanometers, it has extremely strong chemical stability. It can maintain excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, chloride solutions, acidic or alkaline environments, which is far better than stainless steel.
Outstanding high temperature stability
The Titanium Metal Wire can withstand continuous high temperatures of up to 600°C in the air, and their mechanical properties and structural stability will not significantly decline. Compared with aluminum or some stainless steel, titanium wire is less prone to oxidation and deformation under high temperature conditions, and is suitable for use in fields that require high temperature resistance, such as aviation and heat treatment equipment.

FAQ
Q: What is Titanium Metal Wire?
A: Titanium metal wire is a thin, cylindrical form of titanium or titanium alloy, available in various diameters. It is known for its high strength, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, and is used in medical, aerospace, industrial, and jewelry applications.
Q: What are the typical diameters of titanium wire?
A: Titanium wire is available in diameters ranging from 0.1 mm to 6 mm. Custom diameters can be produced for specific applications.
Q: How is titanium wire manufactured?
A: Titanium wire is produced by hot or cold drawing from a titanium rod or bar. It undergoes annealing to improve ductility and remove internal stresses.
Q: Can titanium wire be welded or formed?
A: Yes. Titanium wire can be welded using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding and is suitable for bending, coiling, or threading, especially in Grades 1 and 2.
Q: What are the packaging options for titanium wire?
A: Titanium wire is typically supplied in coils, spools, or straight lengths, depending on the wire diameter and customer requirement.
