ASTM B265 Titanium Sheet & Plate Specification Guide

ASTM B265 is the most important standard for titanium sheet and plate. It defines chemical composition limits, mechanical property requirements, and dimensional tolerances for all CP and alloy grades including Gr1 through Gr5, Gr7, Gr9, Gr12, and Gr23 ELI. Key mechanical requirements: Gr2 tensile 345 MPa minimum, yield 275 MPa, elongation 20%. Gr5 tensile 895 MPa minimum, yield 828 MPa, elongation 10%. Gr23 ELI tensile 828 MPa, yield 759 MPa. For industrial applications, specify ASTM B265. For aerospace, specify AMS 4911 which adds ultrasonic testing and full traceability.
